BARDSEY ISLAND: There was a Melodious Warbler (1st), 1,146 Manx Shearwaters, 69 Gannets, 37 Common Scoters, four Sandwich Terns, an Arctic Skua, a Great Skua, 353 Linnets, a Grasshopper Warbler, a Redstart and 22 Willow Warblers (2nd), a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, a Sooty Shearwater, four Balearic Shearwaters, 37 Fulmars, 142 Gannets, a Med Gull and six Grey Wagtails (3rd), and seven Purple Sandpipers, 26 Goldcrests, 151 Meadow Pipits, three Ringed Plovers and a Snipe (4th). There were 116 Swallows, 54 Curlews, 81 Turnstones, a Greenshank and a Golden Plover (5th), a juvenile Long-tailed Skua, 469 Kittiwakes, 87 Razorbills, 70 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and two Spotted Flycatchers (7th), and a Tree Pipit (8th). A pristine Great Shearwater was seen (10th), plus a Wryneck. There were single Sooty Shearwater, Long-tailed Skua, Little Tern and Black Guillemot, three Black Terns, and a juvenile Icterine Warbler (11th), 32 Meadow Pipits, 26 Rock Pipits, two Little Owls and 10 Greater Black-backed Gulls (13th), three Wrynecks, an Ortolan Bunting and a juvenile Hobby (14th), and 53 Robins, 41 Goldcrests, a Wryneck and 38 White Wagtails (15th). There was a Lapland Bunting (16th), plus Whinchat and two Garden Warblers, 71 Rock Pipits, five Golden Plovers and 12 Purple Sandpipers (19th), 621 Kittiwakes, 255 Razorbills, 30 Gannets and a Whinchat (20th), another Lapland Bunting (21st), and two Water Rails, 124 Linnets and two Little Owls (23rd). A total of 2,061 Razorbills appeared after the raging storm (24th), plus 592 Kittiwakes and the first Red-throated Diver. There were three Sooty Shearwaters and a Black Tern (25th), the first Sabine’s Gull (26th), Little Stint, eight Snipe, 165 Swallows and 39 Goldcrests (29th), and a Blyth’s Reed Warbler (30th).
OTHER SITES: Criccieth had two pale-bellied Brent Geese late in the month. Morfa Nefyn had up to three Med Gulls, and 17 Twite were at Nant Ffrancon. At Dinas Dinlle, sightings included Whinchat, seven pale-bellied Brent Geese, six Whimbrels and nine Arctic Terns. Pwllheli had 15 Black-tailed Godwits, two Bar-tailed Godwits, five Knot, three Little Egrets, a Greenshank amongst many Redshanks, and two Grey Plovers (2nd), plus three Goosanders (24th) and two Kingfishers (30th).
