HIGH­LIGHTS: A White-winged Black Tern was at High Rid Reser­voir (11th-15th). A Great White Egret was on Red Moss, Hor­wich (13th). A Lit­tle Egret was at El­ton Reser­voir (1st and 17th). A Honey Buz­zard and Mer­lin flew over Win­ter Hill (30th), with a Marsh Har­rier there (7th, 16th and 29th). A Black Tern was at El­ton Reser­voir (26th). Ospreys flew over Win­ter Hill and Black­rod (7th and 17th), Rad­cliffe (13th), Chorl­ton WP (19th) and Pilsworth (30th). EL­TON RESER­VOIR: A Tree Pipit flew over (1st), as did a Hobby (17th) and Mer­lin (22nd). There was a Ruff (16th-22nd), Knot (22nd), Com­mon Sand­piper, Ringed Plover, Dun­lin, four Sand­wich Terns (22nd), a Com­mon Scoter (19th), Scaup (2nd-4th), three Pin­tails (27th), two Whin­chats, three Yel­low Wag­tails, a Wheatear, Spot­ted Fly­catcher and Stonechat.

MERSEY VAL­LEY: One or two Pin­tails were on Shell Pool (9th-30th). A Green Sand­piper was at Al­trin­cham ETW (1st). Five Ring-necked Para­keets were at Chorl­ton Ees. Two Ravens, a Peregrine and four Buz­zards were in the Car­ring­ton Moss area. PEN­NING­TON FLASH: A Hobby flew over (22nd) and a Peregrine was seen (25th). A Knot dropped in (16th). Waders in­cluded a Green­shank (1st-10th), three Green Sand­pipers, a Com­mon Sand­piper, Black-tailed God­wit and Ringed Plover. A Com­mon Scoter was seen (1st) with two (15th). Five Arc­tic Terns flew through (3rd). Mediter­ranean Gulls were seen (2nd and 12th). A late Swift flew over (27th). A Pin­tail was present.

OTHER SITES: Ten Curlew Sand­pipers were on Lit­tle Woolden Moss, with a Lit­tle Stint and Turn­stone (5th-10th), a Wood Sand­piper (10th-11th) and Grey Plover (16th). Two Com­mon Scot­ers were on High Rid Reser­voir (19th-20th). Two Twite flew over Hor­rock’s Moor (16th), with a peak of 44 Wheatears in the area. Six Hob­bies were at Hor­wich Moors (7th). A Rock Pipit, three Com­mon Sand­pipers, two Wheatears and a Whin­chat were at Au­den­shaw Reser­voirs (21st). A Black Red­start was in Manch­ester Town Hall area. Two Whin­chats, two Red­starts, three Spot­ted Fly­catch­ers, a Cross­bill and Red-breasted Mer­ganser were at Hor­wich Moors. Two Wheatears were at Sal­ford Docks.
