HIGH­LIGHTS: The long-stay­ing Black Duck was seen reg­u­larly at Stron­tian. On Skye, a Red-backed Shrike was near Neist Point, a Great White Egret at Glen­dale (27th) and a Long-tailed Skua in Broad­ford Bay (30th). A Sabine’s Gull was near the Crowlin Is­lands (7th). The first Yel­low-browed War­bler was near Bet­ty­hill (22nd). A Black Tern at Dornoch (2nd) was joined by a sec­ond (3rd-8th). A Honey Buz­zard flew over In­ver­ness (1st). A Long-tailed Skua passed Chanonry Point (27th). BLACK ISLE: Jemi­mav­ille held 27 Scaup and 28 Slavo­nian Grebes (7th). Chanonry Point, logged a Po­ma­rine Skua (10th), Lit­tle Gull (1st), 325 Kit­ti­wakes (10th), a Hobby (3rd) and 250 Swal­lows (1st). BADENOCH AND STRATHSPEY: A Grey Plover flew over Nethy­bridge (28th). A Hobby was at Loch Insh (5th). Three Ring Ouzels were at Gaick (19th). EASTER ROSS: There were 3,000 Wi­geon at Tain (21st). A Curlew Sand­piper was at In­ver (25th). Tar­bat Ness logged seven Vel­vet Scot­ers (22nd), two Po­ma­rine Skuas (12th), 11 Pur­ple Sand­pipers (11th) and two Black­caps (15th).

IN­VER­NESS-SHIRE: Two White-tailed Ea­gles were in Strathdearn (28th). Two Black-throated Divers and two Slavo­nian Grebes were on Loch Duntlechaig. A Lit­tle Stint was at Cas­tle Stu­art (10th). Max­ima at White­ness in­cluded 200 Ringed Plovers, six Grey Plovers, 280 Dun­lin and 22 Com­mon Terns, with 200 Gan­nets (23rd), a Lit­tle Gull (11th) and Black­cap (26th). NORTH WEST AND SUTHERLAND: Bal­nakeil Marsh held a La­p­land Bunt­ing (8th) and a Curlew Sand­piper (10th). An­other Curlew Sand­piper was at Bay of Culkein (12th). Eighty Twite were at Balch­ladich (2nd). Sto­er­head held three La­p­land Bunt­ings (16th-20th). Mer­lins were at Culkein Stoer (1st) and Loch Lur­gainn (28th). A Grey Plover was near Achiltibuie and a Curlew Sand­piper at Ach­na­haird (18th-21st). Four Storm Pe­trels were of Rubha Dubh Árd (13th). Two Ring Ouzels were at Loch a’chroisg (6th and 13th). The long-stay­ing Glau­cous Gull re­mained at Ul­lapool. Twenty Dot­terel were on Am Faocha­gach (22nd). Three Lit­tle Gulls were at Brora all month. There were 120 San­der­ling, a Curlew Sand­piper and five Lit­tle Gulls at Dornoch (10th). SKYE AND RUM: There were 80 Twite at Rhu Bor­nes­ke­taig (30th) and a Po­ma­rine Skua (1st). Kil­maluag Bay held a Po­ma­rine Skua (1st) and 25 Brent Geese (8th). A Short-eared Owl was at Ullinish (29th). Eighty Black-tailed God­wits were at Loch Portree (1st). Max­ima in Broad­ford Bay in­cluded 75 Brent Geese, 300 Dun­lin, a Curlew Sand­piper (12th), 113 Knot, 25 Whim­brels and a Ruff (7th). On Rum, La­p­land Bunt­ings were at Kil­mory (13th) and Mul­lach Mór (16th). Tom Wells
