HIGH­LIGHTS: A Black Tern was at Lu­nan Bay (1st), with a Roseate Tern there (11th) and a Surf Scoter (15th), with two (25th). Spot­ted Red­shanks were at Lur­gies (1st) and the Slunks (3rd). Two Ring-necked Para­keets were at For­far Loch Rugby Club (4th). A Sooty Shear­wa­ter passed Fish­town of Usan (4th), with two at Ar­broath Cliffs (1st). Glen Dye had two Red Kites (8th). Med Gulls were at Lu­nan Bay and Inch­cape Park, Ar­broath (8th). A Golden Ea­gle was in the Glen Clova/glen Doll area (11th). Two Quails called at Fern Brechin (12th). A Hobby was at Mains of Usan (15th). A Po­ma­rine Skua passed East Haven (18th). A Crane was at Fi­navon (23rd). A White-tailed Ea­gle was at Murton Re­serve (28th). LOCH OF KINNORDY: There were two Ospreys, three Marsh Har­ri­ers, 300 Lap­wings, Water Rails and 500 roost­ing Star­lings ha­rassed by a Spar­rowhawk (3rd). Two Pin­tails were present (28th), plus Wi­geon, five Shov­el­ers, Gad­wall, Teal, Snipe, and a Hobby (16th). MON­TROSE BASIN: Rossie Spit held six Curlew Sand­pipers (3rd) and two Lit­tle Stints (17th). Some 165 Pink­feet ar­rived (16th). Fifty Golden Plovers were seen (16th). Two Ruff were on Lur­gies (11th). Max­ima in­cluded two Lit­tle Grebes, 80 Cor­morants, 728 Shel­ducks, 5,074 Wi­geon, 104 Teal, 144 Mal­lards, a King­fisher, 412 Eiders, 23 Gold­eneyes, 10 Red-breasted Mer­gansers, 19 Goosanders, five Grey Plovers, 1,192 Lap­wings, 1,330 Dun­lin, Snipe, 130 Black-tailed God­wits, 77 Bar-tailed God­wits, 793 Curlews, 2,448 Red­shanks, 11 Green­shanks, eight Turn­stones, 95 Com­mon Terns, Marsh Har­rier, Curlew Sand­piper, 192 Black-headed Gulls, 63 Com­mon Gulls, 33 Her­ring Gulls, and Great Black-backed Gull. OTHER SITES: A Wheatear was on Law Hill (4th). Four Wheatears, Whitethroat, Great Spot­ted Wood­pecker and Buz­zard were on the Sid­law Hills (5th). River­side NP held two Wheatears (7th). Trottick Ponds had a Grey Wag­tail (7th). Lu­nan Bay (16th) held 1,500 Kit­ti­wakes, Great Skua, Arc­tic Skua, four Manx Shear­wa­ters, five Lit­tle Gulls, 200 Com­mon Scot­ers, 250 Vel­vet Scot­ers, eight Ringed Plovers, and two Brent Geese. Murton (11th) held Great Crested Grebe, two Lit­tle Grebes and 70 Lap­wings. Fish Town of Usan (16th) held Whitethroat, two Wil­low War­blers, and Gold­crest. A Dip­per was on Dron­ley Burn (18th). Craig Owl Hill (18th) held two Red Grouse and two Ravens. Carnoustie Bay (21st) had Great Skua and 250 Com­mon Scot­ers.
