HIGHLIGHTS: A first-winter Brown Shrike was at Out Skerries (27th-30th), with another record at Aith, Mainland (30th). Sandgarth, Mainland, had a Blyth’s Reed Warbler (30th), plus a possible Sykes’s Warbler. An Arctic Warbler was at Valyie, Unst (4th), with another record at Hoswick (21st). An Isabelline Shrike was on Foula (17th). A Lanceolated Warbler was at Sumburgh (17th-21st). A juvenile Pallid Harrier passed Loch of Hillwell (17th) and was seen around the islands until month’s end. A Black-headed Bunting was at Haroldswick, Unst (17th). A Paddyfield Warbler was around Skaw, Unst, late in the month.
