GRID REF: SH 253 834 POST CODE: LL65 1YD (for the Holy­head Mar­itime Mu­seum, which is sit­u­ated right on the shore of the har­bour) HOW TO GET THERE: Take the A55 across the Me­nai Straits and con­tinue for 24 miles to reach Holy­head, join­ing the A5154 to­wards the port, and then hav­ing turned left on to the mi­nor road along­side the har­bour WHERE TO PARK: Op­tions are along the road­side over­look­ing the har­bour, at Sol­dier’s Point or at the Break­wa­ter Coun­try Park, where a fee is payable TER­RAIN: Wide pedes­trian ac­cess foot­path over­look­ing the har­bour, else­where a va­ri­ety of sur­faces within the Break­wa­ter Coun­try Park and on the Wales Coastal Path AC­CES­SI­BIL­ITY: Open at all times and most of the har­bour can be viewed from a car, make sure you bring your tele­scope, while the Wales Coastal Path fol­lows the har­bour shore be­fore con­tin­u­ing along the nearby coast FA­CIL­I­TIES: All to be found in the Break­wa­ter Coun­try Park oth­er­wise a short dis­tance away in Holy­head PUBLIC TRANS­PORT Holy­head is well served by train and bus ser­vices.
