Bird Watching (UK) - - Your View -

We are wondering if you are producing a calendar for 2017? We have your Mallorca 2016 edition on our kitchen wall and have found it very useful, not least because it prompted us to return to the island after a gap of 11 years. How about that for successful advertising? All thanks to you and the tourist office for Mallorca. We had a great time and found a new area, too – La Victoria, just behind our resort near Alcudia. It appears to be missing from most of the information for birdwatching on the island. However, it provided two new ‘life’ birds for us: Slender-billed Gull and Wryneck. These we count as a bonus, as we also added a total of 19 new species to our Mallorca list, and a total of 75 species was our tally for the week. Our Wryneck sighting was just by a restaurant car park on the road into La Victoria peninsula. It confirms our motto: all the best birds are seen in the car park! Clive & Sheila Williamson

Ed comment: We’re delighted you enjoyed our 2016 calendar so much and by now you should be aware that this issue does indeed come with a 2017 version. We hope you enjoy it as much!
