Bird Watching (UK) - - Your Birding Month -

BUTTERFLIES We rightly associate butterflies with our warmer months. But a handful of Britain’s species, mostly brightly coloured members of the Nymphalidae family, can be seen in winter... if you know where to look. Adult Peacocks, Red Admirals, Small Tortoiseshells and Commas (left) frequently hibernate in dark recesses of human habitation. So use a torch to illuminate the corners of your shed or outhouse.
