Child-like Flamingo behaviour

Bird Watching (UK) - - News Wire -

Flamingos at Slimbridge are acting like “kids in a playground”, according to researchers at a WWT reserve. They noticed that some birds have been barging into others and pushing them out of the way, rather than walking around them. In one case, a sleeping flamingo was deliberately “knocked flying” by another. The behaviour has been noticed in all six of Slimbridge’s flamingo species, and seems to have nothing to do with ‘pecking order’ disputes over food.
