HIGHLIGHTS: A Cattle Egret visited Marsh Lane, where four Bearded Tits were also seen. Yellow-browed Warblers were at Fens Pools and Edgbaston. A Great Grey Shrike flew over Lutley Wedge.
CLAYHANGER MARSH: Sixteen Whooper Swans was an excellent site record. A Cetti’s Warbler, the odd Stonechat, Willow Tit and Water Rail were also seen.
LUTLEY: Golden Plovers flew over. There were Brambling, Stonechat, Raven and Peregrine.
MARSH LANE: There was a Great White Egret, Little Egrets, two Pintails, a Marsh Harrier and Stonechat. Waders included Jack Snipe, Dunlin and Green Sandpiper.
SANDWELL VALLEY: An Osprey flew over. A Merlin flew through the RSPB marsh. There was a Rock Pipit, Stonechats, Marsh Tit, Willow Tit, Brambling, Jack Snipe, 26 Goosanders and Pintail. Peregrines were regular.
OTHER SITES: Willow Tits were at Saltwells and Pelsall North Common. Queslett held 165 Wigeon. Pete Hackett (0121 358 2454)
