Bird Watching (UK) - - Uk Bird Sightings -

HIGH­LIGHTS: Two Great White Egrets were at New­port Wet­lands (7th), with a Cat­tle Egret there (15th) and Spot­ted Crake (16th). Yel­low-browed War­blers were at Llan­degfedd Reser­voir (8th) and New­port Wet­lands (22nd). A Great Grey Shrike was at Mynydd Garn Clochdy (27th). A pair of Cranes nested on the Gwent coast and suc­cess­fully raised one chick.

NEW­PORT WET­LANDS: A Marsh Har­rier was present through­out, with a Hen Har­rier (9th), a late Hobby (12th), Short-eared Owl (22nd) and Mer­lin (26th). There was a Ring Ouzel (25th).

OTHER SITES: A Jack Snipe was at Mynydd Hen­llys. Three Brent Geese were at Peter­stone Gout, with one at Col­lis­ter Pill (22nd). A Mer­lin was at Peter­stone Gout (5th). A Hen Har­rier was on the Coity Moun­tain (20th). A Bram­bling was at Bryn­mawr (23rd). Chris Hatch
