HIGHLIGHTS: Two Great White Egrets were at Newport Wetlands (7th), with a Cattle Egret there (15th) and Spotted Crake (16th). Yellow-browed Warblers were at Llandegfedd Reservoir (8th) and Newport Wetlands (22nd). A Great Grey Shrike was at Mynydd Garn Clochdy (27th). A pair of Cranes nested on the Gwent coast and successfully raised one chick.
NEWPORT WETLANDS: A Marsh Harrier was present throughout, with a Hen Harrier (9th), a late Hobby (12th), Short-eared Owl (22nd) and Merlin (26th). There was a Ring Ouzel (25th).
OTHER SITES: A Jack Snipe was at Mynydd Henllys. Three Brent Geese were at Peterstone Gout, with one at Collister Pill (22nd). A Merlin was at Peterstone Gout (5th). A Hen Harrier was on the Coity Mountain (20th). A Brambling was at Brynmawr (23rd). Chris Hatch
