HIGH­LIGHTS: A Richard’s Pipit and Barred War­bler vis­ited Dur­ness (12th). On Skye, a Turtle Dove was at Col­bost (5th), with prob­a­bly the same bird at Bor­reraig (25th). Also on Skye were a Great Grey Shrike at Glen Conon (16th) and Rose-coloured Star­ling at Ullinish (20th-22nd). The Black Duck re­mained at Stron­tian. A Great White Egret was near Lairg (11th). Tar­bat Ness had a Pal­las’s War­bler (17th), Great Grey Shrike (15th) and a Red-flanked Blue­tail (16th), the Blue­tail a first for the High­lands. Eight Yel­low-browed War­blers were at Tar­bat Ness (4th-15th), with two at Broad­ford, Skye (4th-18th), and singles at Dur­ness (12th-16th), Old­shore Beg (7th), Con­tin (30th-31st), White­ness (3rd), Glen­feshie (8th) and Gran­town on Spey (5th). BADE­NOCH, STRATH­SPEY AND IN­VER­NESS-SHIRE: Eleven Waxwings were in Aviemore (28th). Three Ring Ouzels and a Jack Snipe were at Gaick (8th). There were 37 Brent Geese at Mil­ton of Cul­lo­den (30th). Some 100 Com­mon Scot­ers (2nd) and 11 Grey Plovers were at White­ness (17th). BLACK ISLE: Udale Bay logged 10,000 Pink­feet (11th), Bean Goose (8th), three White­fronts (24th) and Curlew Sand­piper (14th). A Snow Goose com­muted be­tween Udale, Tore and Red­cas­tle. Sea­watch­ing off Chanonry pro­duced 140 Long-tailed Ducks, 800 Gan­nets, 65 Great Skuas, a Po­ma­rine Skua and Lit­tle Auk (15th). EASTER ROSS: A Green Sand­piper was near Ding­wall (12th). A Wheatear was on Beinn Thar­suinn (13th). Two Swal­lows were at Bal­in­tore (26th). A Ruff was at In­ver (2nd) and 200 Whooper Swans near Fearn (27th). Tar­bat Ness logged a Sooty Shear­wa­ter (14th), nine Po­ma­rine Skuas (30th), Jack Snipe (15th), a Lesser Whitethroat, eight Black­caps and a Red­start (16th), five Bram­blings (15th) and a La­p­land Bunt­ing (2nd). NW & SUTHER­LAND: A Bean Goose and Lesser Whitethroat were at Bal­nakeil (23rd). A Sooty Shear­wa­ter was off Sheigra (2nd). A La­p­land Bunt­ing was at Clach­toll (7th). Three Jack Snipe were at Ard­var (8th), with another at Ach­na­haird (25th). There were 37 Bar­na­cle Geese at Reiff and 63 Twite at Al­tandhu (19th). There were 550 Red­wings at Al­tandhu (19th) and 1,150 Field­fares at Loch a’chroisg (24th). Waxwings in­cluded 200 at Kin­lochbervie (24th) and 70 at Drum­beg (23rd). SKYE & SW: A Jack Snipe was at Earl­ish (30th) and a King­fisher near Portree (21st). Twenty Waxwings were at Drum­fearn (30th). Nine­teen White­fronts (29th) and a Med Gull (from 28th) were in Broad­ford Bay. Two Ring Ouzels (15th) and three La­p­land Bunt­ings were in Kil­mory Glen, Rum (20th). Two Jack Snipe and two Long-eared Owls were at Kil­do­nan, Eigg (19th). Mo­rar held 27 White­fronts (28th). Tom Wells
