1 Turn off the A849 at Pennyghael after scanning Loch Scridain for divers, mergansers and Otters. 2 Check the forestry for displaying raptors flushing the conifer-loving finches and look out for Red Deer enjoying the cover of the trees. Recent ‘clear fell’ will provide food for hunting harriers and owls. 3 Drive down to the bay checking the woodland for breeding birds and look over the natural harbour for divers, sea duck and sea birds. 4 Mull’s brilliant coastline can be explored by walking west towards Malcolm’s Point and the ‘Carsaig Arches’, which is an amazing rock formation, looking out for eagles on the way. 5 Walking east again takes you under some sheer cliffs with grazing goats, eagles hunting above you and sea caves and Loch Buie to aim for.
