Bird Watching (UK) - - Species Woodcock -

Found throughout summer in most areas of the UK, except for the south-west of England. In winter, they are widespread in lowland areas. However, these birds are rarely active during daylight hours and, if a bird is seen during the day, then it has most probably been accidentally flushed. The best chance of seeing one is to visit a known breeding area at dusk, particularly from April to June.
