HIGHLIGHTS: Glaucous Gulls were at Aberystwyt­h (to 2nd), Ynyslas (9th and 24th), Tre’r ddol (20th-24th), Ynys-hir (26th) and New Quay (26th). Borth’s Snow Bunting remained all month. A Ring-necked Duck was at Llyn Glandwgan (16th), and at adjacent Llyn Rhosrhydd with seven Whooper Swans (17th), A Great Northern Diver and 127 Kittiwakes passed Aberystwyt­h. Three Bewick’s Swans and two Little Gulls were at Ynys-hir (23rd). DYFI ESTUARY: Maxima included eight Black-tailed Godwits, 3,000 Wigeon, eight Shovelers, 1,000 Oystercatc­hers, 72 Grey Plovers, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits, 370 Pintails and 500 Dunlin. Present throughout were five Brent Geese, 14 Greenland White-fronted Geese, a Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, Greenshank and two Green Sandpipers. Ynyslas logged 50 Common Scoters (6th). OTHER SITES: Four Whooper Swans were at Llyn Gorsgoch (4th). A Scaup was at Llyn Eiddwen (5th). Two Jack Snipe were at Llanon (11th). There were 28 Gannets at Aberystwyt­h (13th) where the Black Redstart and nine Purple Sandpipers remained. There were 23 Red-throated Divers at Aberaeron (13th). Cors Caron held 190 Wigeon, 498 Teal, 180 Lapwings, a Jack Snipe and Merlin (14th). At the Teifi Estuary, there were 600 Lapwings and, unusually, a Purple Sandpiper (18th).
