SCAR­BOR­OUGH: Star bird was a Leach’s Pe­trel fly­ing past Scalby Mills (1st). Long-stay­ers in­cluded 17 Shore Larks at Long Nab, two Great North­ern Divers and two Black-necked Grebes around the har­bour, a Great Grey Shrike in Lang­dale For­est, three Black Red­starts, two Long-tailed Ducks and 13 Mediter­ranean Gulls in South Bay, and six Lit­tle Egrets in The Carrs. An Ice­land Gull flew north at Long Nab (18th). A Glau­cous Gull was at West Knap­ton (25th). White-fronted Geese peaked at 52 at Seamer (3rd), with two Bean Geese there (24th). A tun­dra Bean Goose was at Long Nab. Fif­teen Waxwings were in the hos­pi­tal grounds (17th). A La­p­land Bunting was at Long Nab (15th). A Scaup was at the Mere (11th-16th).
