Bird Watching (UK) - - Uk Bird Sightings -

HIGH­LIGHTS: A Smew, Long-tailed Duck and Bit­tern were on Auchen­re­och Loch (24th). Ring-necked Ducks were on Car­ling­wark Loch and Mil­ton Loch. Bram­blings were at Luckie’s Harg and Gretna. A Green-winged Teal and Euro­pean White-fronted Goose were at Caerlave­rock (16th). Three Pur­ple Sand­pipers were at South­er­ness (1st). A Scaup and two Whim­brels were at Carse Bay. Thirty Green­land White­fronts were at the Th­reave Es­tate (1st). A Cattle Egret and Lit­tle Egret were at Stran­raer. A Vel­vet Scoter was with 1,000 Com­mon Scot­ers at Sand­head. A Glau­cous Gull was at Lochmaben (3rd). There was a Star­ling mur­mu­ra­tion at Merse­head. WWT CAERLAVE­ROCK: Pere­grine, Hen Har­rier, Lap­wings, Red­shanks, Whooper Swans, Bar­na­cle Geese, Black-tailed God­wits, Teal and Wi­geon were noted. OTHER SITES: A Mer­lin was at Pow­illimount (1st). Red Kite, Buz­zard, Pere­grine, Lap­wing, Goosander, Pink­feet, a Whooper Swan and Lit­tle Grebe were at Th­reave Es­tate. Gold­en­eye, Teal, Wi­geon and Pin­tail were on the River Dee. Four pairs of Buz­zards dis­played be­tween Bom­bie Val­ley and Cum­stoun. Field­fares and Tree Spar­rows were at Locker­bie. Red Kite, Wil­low Tit, Treecreeper, Nuthatch and Bullfinch were at Ken-dee and Th­reave Es­tate. Curlew, Oys­ter­catcher, Red­shank, Gold­crest, Red Kite and Pink­feet were at Cum­stoun.
