HIGHLIGHTS: A total of 131 Waxwings were at five locations (1st-19th). A Siberian Chiffchaff was at Keptie Ponds, Arbroath (1st). Monikie CP held a Green Sandpiper. Kinnordy held a Smew (6th) and Bittern (16th). Lintrathen had a Red-necked Grebe throughout and American Wigeon (to 24th). A Little Auk flew north at Whiting Ness (8th). A Slavonian Grebe was at Lunan Bay (10th). Two pale-bellied Brent Geese were at Craig Mill Burn (10th). A White-fronted Goose was with Pinkfeet at Linross Road (12th). Two White-tailed Eagles were in an Angus glen (19th). Two Ravens were at Back Water Dam (24th). LOCH OF KINNORDY: Tree Sparrows and Bramblings came to feeders. Teal, Tufted Duck and Mute Swan were regular. LOCH OF LINTRATHEN: There was a Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Coot, Goldeneye, Wigeon, Whooper Swan, and Tufted Duck. A Brambling flock was on the perimeter of the reserve. MONTROSE BASIN: Highlights included a Little Egret and Kingfisher (8th), 20 Twite, four Little Grebes, 46 Cormorants, four Herons, 12 Mute Swans, five Pinkfeet, 384 Shelducks, 2,954 Wigeon, 100 Teal, 176 Mallards, ten Shovelers, 167 Eiders, 16 Goldeneyes, 70 Pintails, three Goosanders, two Moorhens, 1,346 Oystercatc­hers, 354 Knot, 1,130 Dunlin, 129 Black-tailed Godwits, 15 Bar-tailed Godwits, 818 Curlews, 1,733 Redshanks, three Greenshank­s, three Turnstones, two Guillemots, seven Black-headed Gulls, five Common Gulls, five Herring Gulls and a Great Black-backed Gull. OTHER SITES: Barry Buddon logged a Sparrowhaw­k, two Buzzards, four Fieldfares, six Mute Swans, a Stonechat, Meadow Pipit, Kestrel, Skylarks and a Heron. Crombie CP (5th) had a large flock of Redpolls. Lunan Bay (10th) had eight Fulmars. Murton Reserve, Forfar (11th) held 800 Wigeon, a Pintail, and 60 Gadwall. Craig Mill Den (18th) had Buzzard and Dipper. East Haven had a Grey Wagtail, two Magpies, a Tree Sparrow, Redshank, Ringed Plover and three Oystercatc­hers. Monifieth Bay (23rd) held 70 Bar-tailed Godwits, three Turnstones, a Sanderling and a Lesser Black-backed Gull. Carnoustie Bay (20th) had two Gannets, three Guillemots, two Razorbills, 12 Long-tailed Ducks, 20 Common Scoters, three Red-throated Divers, 10 Eiders and two Red-breasted Mergansers.
