Bird Watching (UK) - - Bird The World -

I’m a keen birder with experience in more than 60 countries, but I have to admit that the lemurs are the highlight of Madagascar for me. How can you resist taking lots of photos of Ring-tailed Lemurs (below)? Or the beautiful Diademed Sifaka? Or the dancing Verreaux’s Sifaka? I’m glad we don’t have film cameras these days, it would cost a fortune! But perhaps one of the main highlights of a visit to Madagascar is to hear the wailing calls of Indri. To be underneath the trees where the world’s largest lemur is calling is a true wildlife experience to linger long in the memory – it’s the sound of this amazing country and a privilege to hear such a charismatic animal, as indeed are most of the lemurs.
