HIGH­LIGHTS: Cranes were in flight at the Wa­ter Park and Melk­sham, and a Siberian Chif­fchaff was trapped at the Wa­ter Park which also hosted a Lit­tle Gull and Black Tern. Bram­blings were at Tis­bury and Sav­er­nake with fledged young Cross­bills present at the lat­ter site. Fifty Lesser Red­polls were at Great Bed­wyn. Late win­ter vis­i­tors in­cluded eight records of Field­fares, a few Golden Plover, a Gold­en­eye and two Mer­lins. Ospreys were at Brad­ford-on-avon, Swin­don, Pert­wood and Lang­ford Lakes but there was a dis­ap­point­ing show­ing of Ring Ousels this spring with only two records from Lid­ding­ton and Im­ber. Other sight­ings of note in­cluded a Turn­stone at Coate Wa­ter, Green­shank and Jack Snipe at Lang­ford lakes and a Gar­ganey at the Wa­ter Park. Rob Turner
