AVON VALLEY: A Grasshopper Warbler was at Besford. A Short-eared Owl, Whinchat and eight Ring Ouzels were on Bredon Hill. A Great White Egret was at Gwen Finch Wetland. A Sandwich Tern, Little Gull and 12 Black-tailed Godwits were at Lower Moor. A Sandwich Tern and Whinchat were at Pershore. Hobbies flew over Eckington and Evesham.
CENTRAL: A Grasshopper Warbler and Whinchat were at Coney Meadow. A Siberian Chiffchaff was at Lower Broadheath. A Common Scoter and Osprey were at Westwood Pool. Grasshopper Warblers were at Tapenhall and Worcester (three).
GRIMLEY/HOLT: The American Wigeon remained (to 6th). There was a Brent Goose, four Scaup, two Black Terns, an Arctic Tern, Avocet, 49 Black-tailed Godwits, a Whimbrel, Greenshank, four Ruff, a Hobby and three Whinchats.
LOWER SEVERN VALLEY: A Whinchat was seen at Naunton. A Great White Egret, Bar-tailed Godwit, Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank, five Whimbrels and 17 Black Terns were logged at Ripple.
MALVERN HILLS: Two Grasshopper Warblers were at Castlemorton Common. A Black Redstart was at Malvern Link.
NORTH: Two Avocets were at Arrow Valley Lake. A Red-rumped Swallow (13th), two Sandwich Terns, a Black Tern, Little Gull, Grey Plover, Whimbrel, two Ospreys and a Hobby
were at Bittell Reservoirs. A Whinchat and four Whimbrels were at Hartlebury Common. Two Little Gulls and an Arctic Tern were at Hewell Grange. A Grasshopper Warbler was at Shenstone. Ospreys flew over Caunsall and Kidderminster. Whinchats were at Burlish Top, Lower Park and Norchard. Ring Ouzels were at Clent (two), Walton Hill (two), Wassell Grove and Woodrow (four).
UPTON WARREN: Highlights included a Ring-billed Gull (7th), Marsh Harrier, Osprey, Spotted Redshank, Ruff, Whimbrel, three Greenshanks, 11 Black-tailed Godwits, a Kittiwake, Sandwich Tern, two Black Terns, five Arctic Terns, a Hobby and Grasshopper Warbler. Brian Stretch (www.worcesterbirding.co.uk)
