WAYMARKERS

Bird Watching (UK) - - Go Birding -

1 Use the approach road to check for geese, swans and waders. Scan the posts for perched raptors.

2 This reserve is a great addition to the area’s growing bird list, with new scrapes left and right of the car park so check out the breeding waders, duck and wagtails.

3 A flood bank protects the area from Wigtown Bay flooding so try walking

north towards the River Bladnoch to check for hunting harriers and owls in winter.

4 Walk the flood bank south to look for similar birds, checking out the pipits for anything unusual and keep an eye out for Osprey in summer.

5 Scan the marsh for geese in winter and further out in the bay for tidal movement of sea ducks and seals.
