WAY MARKERS

Bird Watching (UK) - - Go Birding -

1 From the car park, follow the track westwards alongside the River Severn where Mute Swan and Mallard are always around. Check for Grey Heron, Kingfisher, Canada and Greylag Goose. In winter a number of interesting species like Wigeon, Shoveler, Pochard, Tufted Duck and Goosander should be around with the odd rarer ones like Whooper Swan or Pink-footed Goose occasionally recorded.

2 A large bend in the river has high banks where Sand Martins nest every year. You may also see Grey or Yellow Wagtails here and possibly Moorhen.

3 Head through the wooded area and up the steps where there are lots of House Sparrows (check for Tree), Blackbird, Song Thrush, Robin and Wren will be around. There should also be Blue, Great and Coal Tits in the garden area.

4 Then take the option of a walk further up the river and again through a bit of woodland with possible Willow Tit.
