LITTLE RINGED PLOVER

LRPS are told from their cousin the Ringed Plover (which often return to the nest-sites slightly earlier) by their smaller, slimmer, more attenuated shape, duller leg colour, fine black bill and clean yellow eye-ring. They lack the wing-bar of the Ringed Plover and have a distinctive down-slurred ‘pee-oo’ call.
