A HISTORIC family business dating back more than three centuries has become the latest to join Birmingham’s Advanced Manufacturing Hub.

Salts Healthcare, which manufactures medical devices and can trace its roots back to 1701, has agreed to take the whole of the 94,500 sq ft Apollo building on the hub in Aston.

As part of future expansion, it will be relocating its hi-tech manufacturing and assembly operations to supplement the other premises it operates in the Birmingham area.

Managing director Peter Salt said: “The Apollo building will allow Salts Healthcare to continue with its business expansion and provide it with the opportunity to further develop its innovative production techniques and product research.

“We are proud to have secured this new prestigious site which will allow us to remain in Birmingham and it fits well with our future plans and strategies.”
