Design consultancy signs up for space after office refurb
A CONSULTANCY has become one of the first firms to take space in a newly refurbished Birmingham city centre office block.
Ramboll, the international design, engineering and environmental consultancy, has agreed a ten-year deal to take 8,055 sq ft of space at the Cornerblock complex on the corner of Cornwall Street and Livery Street.
Previously called Two Cornwall Street, owner Bruntwood carried out a £14 million redevelopment and rebrand of the ninestorey building which completed in July.
Ramboll has relocated its 100-strong team from Waterloo Street where they will join tenants such as specialist insurance company Beazley and engineering consultancy Arcadis.
Managing director Mathew Riley said: “The Midlands region is a strategically important location in our growth plans and we are excited to have secured a space which gives us headroom for further expansion.
“With so many opportunities arising across Birmingham and the surrounding areas, we are pleased to be offering a strong multidisciplinary local team of engineers, scientists, project managers and consultants, working across the buildings, transport and environmental markets.”
Rob Valentine, Bruntwood’s director for Birmingham, added: “We are happy to welcome a company of Ramboll’s calibre on board.
“In the few months since practical completion, we have seen our customer community grow considerably and we continue to invest in an innovative high-quality working environment here at Cornerblock.”
Colliers International advised Ramboll.
