New tax tech­nol­ogy di­rec­tor for EY

FI­NAN­CIAL ser­vices firm EY has ap­pointed a new di­rec­tor in its Birm­ing­ham of­fice.

Eleanor Mac­don­ald has joined the prac­tice as a di­rec­tor in the tax transformation and tech­nol­ogy team.

Ms Mac­don­ald has 12 years of ex­pe­ri­ence within the tax tech­nol­ogy sec­tor and joins the firm from Deloitte, hav­ing pre­vi­ously held se­nior tax man­age­ment con­sult­ing roles.

She has built up ex­pe­ri­ence help­ing clients to trans­form their tax com­pli­ance and re­port­ing pro­cesses, mak­ing best use of au­to­ma­tion and an­a­lyt­i­cal tech­nolo­gies to in­crease ef­fi­ciency and ac­cu­racy.

In her new role she will fo­cus on help­ing firms to take ad­van­tage of the lat­est tech­nol­ogy de­vel­op­ments to trans­form their tax pro­cesses and meet the in­creas­ing de­mands around trans­parency and dis­clo­sure from the public, gov­ern­ments and digital tax ad­min­is­tra­tions.

Ms Mac­don­ald said: “Now is a re­ally ex­cit­ing time in tax tech­nol­ogy. Rapid ad­vances in tech­nolo­gies such as ar­ti­fi­cial in­tel­li­gence, com­bined with in­creas­ing vol­umes of data and fall­ing tech­nol­ogy costs, are rad­i­cally trans­form­ing the world of busi­ness, mak­ing the ben­e­fits of au­to­ma­tion and an­a­lyt­ics far more ac­ces­si­ble. I’m look­ing for­ward to lead­ing my team in help­ing to bring these digital tax transformation op­por­tu­ni­ties to our clients across the Mid­lands.”
