Shoddy repairs are not value for money
DEAR Editor, The state of the majority of Birmingham’s roads is disgrace. Some of the repairs are shoddy and leave the roads in a not much better state after the work has been completed. The council should be more aggressive in making sure that a value for money job is done.
Around Longbridge you can see ripples in some of the larger repairs. Any road repair should last years if done correctly.
In other parts of the UK and other countries, when cracks appear in the surface they run liquid tar in to hold them together and it works. If it works and is cost-effective elsewhere, so why not here?
A Baker, Longbridge, Birmingham
