McCann PR set to help Flybe soar

BUD­GET air­line Flybe has re­cruited Soli­hull com­mu­ni­ca­tions agency McCann to pro­vide PR sup­port for its UK op­er­a­tions.

The ex­panded brief fol­lows the ap­point­ment of the agency last year as Flybe’s mar­ket­ing part­ner to pro­vide ad­ver­tis­ing, me­dia buy­ing, pro­duc­tion and so­cial me­dia ser­vices.

Since then, McCann has started to de­liver a se­ries of pan-Euro­pean cam­paigns, with a ma­jor fo­cus on the UK.

The PR team will now also pro­vide na­tional, re­gional and trade press of­fice sup­port to the air­line. It will also man­age a se­ries of proac­tive con­sumer cam­paigns.

The air­line joins McCann’s ros­ter of travel and leisure clients in­clud­ing Cathay Pa­cific, Visit Jersey and Crys­tal Ski.

Chris Arthur, manag­ing di­rec­tor at McCann, said: “Our al­liance with Flybe is one that we’re very proud of and now we’re look­ing for­ward to pro­vid­ing PR sup­port as well to such a re­spected brand.”
