Twisted logic and a democratic betrayal

Birmingham Post - - NEWS -

DEAR Editor, Prime Minister Theresa May has stated that a second referendum on Brexit would be “a gross betrayal of our democracy”.

According to this strange logic, elections would not be held at regular intervals to give the electorate an opportunity to express their views in the light of changed circumstances.

The real betrayal of democracy lies in a refusal to consult the people on a decision of profound importance for the future of the country when the terms of that decision and the consequences of Brexit have only become clearer during the two years since the 2016 Referendum.
