Fund­ing to help drive train­ing

A BIRM­ING­HAM learn­ing and de­vel­op­ment com­pany has re­ceived fund­ing to ex­pand its so­cial en­ter­prise ac­tiv­i­ties.

The new cap­i­tal will en­able En­ploy to in­crease its free train­ing aimed at re­duc­ing youth unem­ploy­ment in the West Mid­lands.

The firm, based at In­no­va­tion Birm­ing­ham, has won an UnLtd Grow it 2018 award and £15,000.

En­ploy works with busi­nesses such as Bar­clays and Birm­ing­ham City Univer­sity to of­fer a range of tools and di­ag­nos­tics to em­bed en­tre­pre­neur­ial think­ing, fo­cus­ing on ar­eas such as cre­ative think­ing and emo­tional in­tel­li­gence.

This new fund­ing will al­low it to ex­tend the train­ing, which launched in 2017, to work to­wards its as­pi­ra­tion of reach­ing 20,000 young peo­ple by 2020.

The Grow it awards are run by UnLtd, which finds, funds and sup­ports en­ter­pris­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions with so­lu­tions to so­cial chal­lenges.
