New history society book

Black Country Bugle - - YOUR LETTERS -

DARLASTON Local History Society are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.

Having been formed in 1988, they are one of the oldest societies in the Midlands. They have a strong membership but new members are always welcome.

We meet on the last Thursday of the month at Slater Street Methodist Centre at 7.30pm.

To celebrate our anniversary we have produced a book on the life of Bob Smith and Favourite House. With the loss of this building we thought it would be a fitting to commemorate this great man and his empire that was well known in Darlaston by all.

The book, which costs £2.50, is being launched at Darlaston Library, from 10am to midday on Saturday, November 10. Dave Butler-hollington Darlaston LHS
