The Yo-yo

Black Country Bugle - - YOUR LETTERS - By Mick Morris

It made me jump with fear Something ran across the floor As I did my shopping In my local store.

Was it a mouse? I thought That ran across the floor So plucked up courage And I went to explore.

As I looked behind the bags I was forced to smile At what had made me jump with fear Just for a short while.

It was a little yo-yo Attached to a broken string And it brought back memories Of the hours of pleasure it could bring.

It was then a little voice So polite and clear Said, ‘Have you seen a yo-yo, Sir? Come running just past here?’

I gave him back his yo-yo And his little face just beamed This little boy then ran away ‘And thank you, Sir!’ he screamed.
