A slideshow highlighti­ng memories of Blairgowri­e and Rattray will be given by Margaret Anton on Tuesday, November 28.

It takes place in the St Catherine’s Centre, George Street, at 7.30pm. Entry is free. Numbers are limited so entry will be by ticket, available from R Doig and Sons and Mitchell’s Newsagents on the High Street.

Meigle The meeting on October 19 was held in Meigle Church Hall. President Catherine Ritchie welcomed members and there was a discussion about what items to bring for the hamper and sales table at the Christmas Fayre to be held in Meigle on Saturday, November 4. Competitio­ns: decorated Hallowe’en biscuit - 1 Suzanne Liston, 2 Catherine Ritchie; flower of the month - 1 Marion Hazel, 2 Mary Connacher, 3 Maureen Milne. Hostesses were Maureen Milne and Ethel Douglas. The next meeting will be on Thursday, November 16, at 7pm.

Rattray and District President Muriel Brown welcomed the speaker, Irene Kirkwood and her daughter, Donna. Irene organises handbag parties. A tasty supper, was provided by members. Competitio­ns: sewn tote bag - 1 Greer Oliver, 2 Muriel Brown. 3 Fiona Ness; three cupcakes - 1 Katy Scott, 2 Muriel Brown, 3 Lesley Howkins; flower of the month - Fiona Ness.

Silvie and Ruthven President Joy Reid welcomed May Webster who demonstrat­ed marzipan fruits and a Christmas rose.Hostess was Jackie McCowan. Competitio­ns: most items in a Bluebell matchbox - 1 Margaret Irvine (130), 2 Margaret Bruce (106), 3 Joy Reid (79); individual lemon meringue pie - 1 Margaret Bruce, 2 Joy Reid, 3 Margaret Irvine; flower of the month - 1 Rona NIcolson, 2 Helen Urquhart, 3 Linda Messer.
