Police seize thousands of pounds of drugs in raid
Police discovered thousands of pounds-worth of cannabis after searching a property in Blairgowrie at the weekend.
Officers entered a property in Dunkeld Place on Saturday, July 4, after obtaining a search warrent.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said officers seized £3000-worth of cannabis and £1400 in cash as a result of the raid.
A man and a woman – both aged 27 – have been charged with alleged drug offences and are due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court “at a later date”, according to the representative of the nationwide force.
Sergeant Scott Carswell is based at the police station in Dundee’s West Bell Street.
In a statement, he explained: “This seizure was an intelligence-led operation and sends out a clear message to those involved in such behaviour that we will not tolerate it within our communities.
“We are committed to building our intelligence on drug-related issues and I would urge anyone with information about such activities to report what they know to the police – no matter how small they think it is.
“It may be the final piece we need to complete a bigger picture.”
