RINGSIDE NOTES

Boxing News - - Action -

l THE official attendance was 14,623, which was in excess of 5,000 short of a sell-out. While the contest was certainly eagerly awaited, the extortionate price of tickets (the cheap seats were priced at a not remotely cheap $2,500) was far too much for fans who had likely already paid that in air fares and hotel fees.

l THE atmosphere inside the T-mobile Arena was not as expected. While there was plenty of wellbehaved Irish fans in attendance who made themselves heard, this was nothing like the days of Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas. Also, in the build-up to the bout, the Strip was lacking in big-fight buzz.
