FIVE boxers from England, Wales and Scotland represented GB at the Mustafa tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia from September 23-24.

Scottish middleweight John Docherty picked up two victories, stopping Bosnia’s Jey Ali in the third round. That put him through to the final, where he unanimously outpointed Belgium’s Ruben Veciunca.

Docherty’s countryman Scott Forrest went straight to the heavyweight final, where he outscored Bosnia’s Elver Sendro.

Welsh lightweight Micky Mcdonagh also proceeded straight to the final and was victorious. He beat Jasin Lama, taking a points decision over the Macedonian.

Talented welterweight Harris Akbar lost out on the cards, losing a decision to home country boxer Adem Fetahovic.

Blane Hyland didn’t get a point, but ended up taking a gold medal home via walkover.
