DISPUTED

Dr. Ching Kuo Wu remains in place at the top of AIBA as the power stuggle continues

Boxing News - - Amateurs -

ALTHOUGH the dispute at the top of AIBA is rumbles on, the world governing body president Dr. Ching Kuo Wu remains in place. The members of the AIBA Executive Committee set up an ‘Interim Management Committee’ after a vote of no confidence in Dr. Wu. While there is a looming Extraordinary Congress, in which the national federations will vote on whether Dr. Wu will continue in post, the Swiss Court in Lausanne did not uphold the Interim Management Committee’s efforts to take over the running of AIBA ahead of that Extraordinary Congress (which could take place in October or November).

There will be an emergency Executive Committee meeting this week (Friday, September 29), which will ask questions about the financial dealings and governance of the organisation and raise the EC’S concerns with those issues and the management of AIBA.
