NO PLACE LIKE HOVE

RONNIE DAVIES thinks Chris Eubank Jnr should reconsider his plans to spread his time between the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas and his usual base of Hove for future training camps.
“It’s up to him what he does but I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Davies, who trains Eubank, tells Boxing News. “He’s got everything he wants down here [in Hove].
“The sparring could be better here, but it’s been adequate for this fight. Sparring is sparring. You can’t go in with world champions every five minutes. You can’t keep picking world champions to spar with. That will not do him any good in the long run, believe me. He wants young and up-and-coming prospects who will give him a good workout, and that’s what he’s getting. But if he wants to go over there, that’s up to him.”
But Davies has seen a change in Eubank Jnr for the better.
“He listens to me and he’s maturing,” Ronnie explains. “He’ll still take on board what he wants to take on board, but he’ll listen and nod his head more. He should listen to me given my experience, but he knows what he’s doing.”
