IT’S re­ported that two men have been charged fol­low­ing the hor­rific amo­nia at­tack on Michael Wat­son in Fe­bru­ary.

The 52-year-old, who was with his carer and best friend Lennard Bal­lack, was sprayed with the liq­uid and dragged from his car to spark out­rage in the box­ing com­mu­nity.

Wat­son - a for­mer Com­mon­wealth mid­dleweight cham­pion who was forced into retirement af­ter be­ing badly in­jured in a 1991 bout with Chris Eubank - was left trau­ma­tised and scarred. Bal­lack, who suf­fered in­juries to the head and eyes, was hos­pi­talised along­side him.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports on Mailon­line, Si­mon Luck, 28, and Paul Sa­muels, 30, have both been charged with con­spir­acy to com­mit rob­bery.

Mr Luck, of Manor Park, east Lon­don, has been handed the ad­di­tional charge of ac­tual bod­ily harm and two counts of pos­ses­sion of heroin and crack co­caine with in­tent to sup­ply. Mr Sa­muels, also of Manor Park, was also charged with pos­ses­sion of heroin and crack co­caine with in­tent. They were also named in a sep­a­rate acid at­tack that left a 19-year-old blind.

They ap­peared at Thames Mag­is­trates Court on Oc­to­ber 4 and will re­main in cus­tody un­til they next face court at Snares­brook on Novem­ber 1.
