Service by the village memorial
TO COMMEMORATE the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, St Mary’s Church and Denham Parish Council are staging a special service by the village war memorial.
The service will take place at 10.30am on Sunday, August 3 – the day before the centenary anniversary.
The Chiltern Brass Band, accompanied by Denham Air Training Corps, will march from Denham Village Hall, Village Road, to St Mary’s, where the Reverend Adrian Hirst will conduct the service around the memorial, weather permitting.
The brass band will play hymn music during the service and afterwards there will be a barbecue in the churchyard for all to enjoy.
