Golf club open­ing chips in for Macmil­lan

FUNDRAIS­ING at a golf club is in full swing fol­low­ing its of­fi­cial open­ing.

The £1.8m South Buck­ing­hamshire Golf Club has raised £6,400 so far for Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port.

The open­ing day cel­e­bra­tions in­cluded for­mer Eng­land and Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur player Dar­ren An­der­ton play­ing on the 18-hole golf course, in a match be­tween The South Buck­ing­hamshire Golf Club and Farn­ham Park Golf Club, which the home team won.

Green fees were re­duced for the day, with golfers in­vited to do­nate to Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port.

Vice-cap­tain of The South Buck­ing­hamshire Golf Club, Rishi Sidhu, said: “It was a won­der­ful event – a fit­ting launch. It was an en­joy­able day and we are pleased so much money was raised for a great cause.”

The club is now gear­ing up for the South Bucks District Coun­cil’s Chair­man’s Char­ity Golf Day on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 10, in aid of lo­cal char­i­ties. To en­ter, email golfen­quiries@ south­bucks.gov.uk.
