Vanessa’s ad­vice to help beat ad­dic­tion

A BUSI­NESS­WOMAN who re­built her life af­ter some­one close to her strug­gled with ad­dic­tions has been tipped to win a na­tional award.

Vanessa Stot­ter from Honor­wood Close, Prest­wood, has helped other women over­come ad­ver­sity af­ter her own fam­ily strug­gles and now she has been short­listed for the An­nual Women In­spir­ing Women Na­tional Awards.

Vanessa was mar­ried with two chil­dren and had a suc­cess­ful ca­reer as a top con­sul­tant for Mary Kay skin care be­fore her life was af­fected by a close fam­ily mem­ber’s ad­dic­tion.

She said: “My life had gone from ‘happy ever af­ter’ to a des­per­ate, deep, dark place in my mind.”

Vanessa then be­gan to re­build her life by fo­cus­ing on thoughts of love and grat­i­tude. She spent a year record­ing pos­i­tive mes­sages for her sales team and used these for her book But­ter­fly Whis­pers, pub­lished ear­lier this year.
