A BUCKS student has won a national business award linked to a Dragons’ Den star.

Amersham and Wycombe College student David Humpston, 19, was named national entrepreneur of the year at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy graduation ceremony in London.

He received the trophy and a £5,000 cheque to further develop his business idea from Den entrepreneur Peter Jones.

David, who has just completed a BTEC in understanding enterprise and entrepreneurship with the academy, said: “My business idea is called Viewpoint Videos. It’s an experiential online video company that allows customers to feature in their own action-movie video.

“This award is a huge boost for my business and me. Not only will the £5,000 enable me to expand Viewpoint Videos Ltd, but the prestige it carries will give me invaluable recognition.”

Mr Jones said: “David demonstrated all the necessary qualities of an entrepreneur – confidence, ambition, entrepreneurial flair and a good business idea.”
