Music and puds for fundraiser
PEOPLE attended a concert and tucked into puddings to raise funds for a charity supporting school children in India.
The concert took place in St Michael and All Angels Church, in Grenfell Road, Beaconsfield, raising £2,200 for a charity providing education for 500 very poor Dalit, untouchable, caste children in rural India.
After the concert those attending were treated to a range of puddings and a glass of wine.
Member of the fundraising team David Baker said: “Chesham based Damon Singers gave an impeccable performance ranging from early church music to a lively Tequila Samba.
“Soloist Helen Baker beautifully sang the Dove Sono from The Marriage of Figaro and trumpeter Barbara Douglas played four solos including virtuoso variations of My Old Kentucky Home.
“The music was complemented by three very humorous monologues and afterwards people said it was fabulous and it was really was one of the best they had been to.”
