Save buses that serve hospitals

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

I AM very concerned about further cuts in bus services.

Of great concern is the gradual decline in the 353 Slough to Amersham service. This has been whittled down from one an hour on weekdays to one every two hours, only one on Saturday and, of course, none on Sundays.

A member of our family who relies on these buses says that recently the only Saturday bus has not turned up on occasions.

May I point out that this is the only direct way to get to Wexham Park Hospital from the Amersham area. Not everyone has their own transport!

I sincerely hope that consideration will be given to these points so that the future of our buses will be safe. For many people, they are a lifeline.

our armed forces. Lord Richards, former head of the Army, has just warned of a lack of strategy in dealing with the resurgent terrorist threat we are going to face from the likes of Islamic State in Iraq.

The UK needs strong leadership at this troubling time. Instead we have a dithering Prime Minister stuck in a pantomime horse coalition. Dominic Grieve is already soft on immigration and Europe and I hope he will not go down this route in other areas.
