Growing for showing
FLOWERS, fruit and vegetables were all on display at a village show.
The Farnhams and Hedgerley Horticultural Society’s annual village show drew a crowd to the village hall on Sunday.
Richard Try, Molly James, Pat Marshall and Angela Morris all won in the flower arrangement classes.
Winning children’s exhibits included a recycled model by Michael Hartup and Lola Keynes’ animal made Ladies provide tea Farnhams and Hedgerley Horticultural Society Show from vegetables.
Elizabeth Cottrell won the best child photography exhibit.
Fiona Cathcart won best exhibit in show for her tapestry and Richard Try submitted the exhibit that gave judges the most pleasure with his flower arrangement on the First World War.
One of the organisers John Conen said: “It was perhaps a bit late in a very good growing season to expect a large number of vegetable entries but they were of good quality as were the fruit and flower entries.”
