Not everyone has the luxury of a car

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

Re: ‘Save buses that serve hospitals’ (Letters page, Bucks Advertiser, September 11) I SYMPATHISE with Christine Feathers.

Chalfont St Giles has 8,000 inhabitants and we do not have a single bus to High Wycombe or Wexham Hospital. The problem is not money but our councillors do not consider it is necessary as ‘everyone has a car’, according to them.

Bucks County Council unfortunately has no proper policy in place to allocate bus services where needed.

He was passionate about the Old Town and took a keen interest in BOTRA’s activities. He also found time to found the Beaconsfield Twinning Association and to be a school governor and treasurer of numerous organisations.

Henry was one of life’s gentlemen, I never saw him angry or raise his voice.

Nevertheless, you knew when he felt strongly about an issue. I am proud to have been able to call him my friend and it was a privilege to have known him.
