Ac­tor brings star qual­ity to fundraiser

A TELE­VI­SION star will be help­ing vis­it­ing re­tirees to help mark a na­tion­wide char­ity event.

Robert Lind­say will visit Den­ham Gar­den Vil­lage, in Den­ham Green Lane, to­mor­row (Fri­day) to take part in the World’s Big­gest Cof­fee Morn­ing in aid of Macmil­lan Can­cer Re­search.

Mr Lind­say, who lives in Den­ham and is known for his star­ring role in the tele­vi­sion sit­com My Fam­ily, is cur­rently per­form­ing in West End mu­si­cal Dirty Rot­ten Scoundrels.

Event or­gan­iser Irene Grif­fiths, 84, of Den­ham Gar­den Vil­lage, said: “We have been or­gan­is­ing this spe­cial cof­fee morn­ing for the past cou­ple of months and it’s won­der­ful that our spe­cial guest, Robert Lind­say, is com­ing along to draw the raf­fle.

“It will be a great, fun filled day and we will be rais­ing money for a worth­while cause.”

As well as a raf­fle, there will be an auc­tion with prizes in­clud­ing a bot­tle of Cham­pagne signed by the Prime Min­is­ter and a canal boat trip for 12 peo­ple.

It is from 10am un­til 2pm and any­one is wel­come to at­tend.
