HELEN and Douglas House has officially re-opened its new-look Helen House children’s hospice after a major refurbishment.
Actor Tom Hollander joined children, families, staff, volunteers and supporters to celebrate the re-opening on Monday, September 15.
The charity, which is in Oxford and serves patients from Bucks, looks after children with life-limiting illnesses.
Sam Daly has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and has been going to Helen House, since 2012.
Sam’s mum, Sara, said: “It’s light and bright and the refurbishment has moved the whole place into the 21st century.”
Reg Cane and Desmond Hall from the Rotary Club of Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter, were among the visitors to Helen House. The club has been a long-time supporter of the hospice.
